PRADA

In 1913, brothers Mario and Martino Prada opened the first ever Prada leather goods shop, Fratelli Prada (Prada Brothers). They gained a reputation for acquiring rare materials and quality leather from around the world with which to make their products, and in 1919 were granted a contract to supply the Italian royal family.

In 1978, Mario's granddaughter, Miuccia Prada, took over as owner and designer of the brand, turning Prada around after a period of downturn for the brand. Miuccia Prada's ability to harmoniously blend contemporary and innovative uses of materials and original designs, with tradition and history, created a worldwide boom.

While choosing high-quality and precise materials, and using refined lines, Prada uses state-of-the-art technology to create styles that range from minimalism, to sporty and casual clothing. And although products made of canvas are popular, the ubiquitous Pocono series created with nylon boasts a permanent place as a fashion staple. The triangular metal logo plate aiached to a simple and functional design is so famous that it continues to be the object of people's admiration.

Prada has achieved the concept Miuccia built the brand on: “luxury in daily life.” The brand has expanded beyond bags into other items and product lines, achieving rapid growth to become a complete luxury, lifestyle brand.
